The people and their knowledge of crafts, farming, customs and social life have shaped and continue to shape Val Müstair. The Nature Park is committed to preserving this knowledge for present and future generations. The «Oral History» project records individual impressions of life and events from the interviewees' childhood to the present day.
Oral History Project
How did people work in Val Müstair when much of the work was still done by hand? How did people farm? How did people live together and overcome strokes of fate? Biosfera Val Müstair investigated these questions in an oral history project and recorded the answers of the people interviewed on video. The aim of the ‘oral history’ method is to have the narrators describe individual impressions of their lives using relatively open questions. The facial expressions and gestures of the people play just as important a role as what they say.
