Initiating and supporting projects

Cultural diversity

Musikfestival
The Biosfera Val Müstair supports traditional events and offers a helping hand so that new ideas can take flight. Together with our creative artists, who characterise the community through their commitment, we strengthen a wide range of initiatives and events. Here are a few examples.

plomer plajer culer

«plomer plajer culer» (layer, fold, flow) is an art and awareness-raising project that brings together cultural players, artists and scientists. It showcases contemporary art in Val Müstair, connects the four valley museums and visualises traces of time in the landscape and living space. The Nature Park is the project organiser of the exhibition, as it strengthens cooperation between the museums, motivates locals and visitors to (re)discover the region's museum offerings and supports cultural tourism in Val Müstair.

Senda da las linguas

The «Senda da las linguas» brings the Romansh language to life in an artistic way. An audio theme trail with eleven short lyrical audio plays leads through the cultural landscape around Valchava. The project was initiated and realised by the nature park. The content was developed by the Blablabor artists' collective in collaboration with the poet Gianna Olinda Cadonau. The Chasa Jaura Valley Museum is responsible for organising and running the project. The language trail has enriched the multifaceted museum with an outdoor programme since 2023.

Il tschêl sün terra

The «Il tschêl sün terra – Dr Himml uf Ärde» music festival has been taking place in Val Müstair since 2024. The focus is on building bridges between music, nature and art. The festival promotes dialogue between musicians, nature lovers and art enthusiasts – a rendezvous between Val Müstair and the world of music from near and far. The idea was born back in 2021, when the sound of the looms in the Tessanda inspired an arrangement by Basel composer Helena Winkelman. Since then, the Nature Park has supported the realisation of the event, which is organised as a three-day festival by the Mia Val Müstair association.
