An unforgettable hiking experience
From Piz Umbrail to the idyllic Lai da Rims
In the summer months, the PostBus takes hikers from Sta. Maria to the Umbrail Pass. From there, the route follows the Italian border up to Piz Umbrail, passing historic border fortifications. At the summit, a magnificent panorama unfolds. The descent leads to the idyllic Lai da Rims – a perfect place to rest. From there, the trail continues through Val Vau back to Sta. Maria.
Panorama & pure nature
Valbella circular tour
From the Ofen Pass, the trail leads through Swiss stone pine forests to Caschlot, with views over the National Park. It then continues through the remote Valbella to the alpine pastures near Fuorcla Funtana da S-charl. After descending to Plaun da l’Aua, the panoramic high-level trail «Senda Val Müstair» brings you back to the Ofen Pass.
Across the nature park
Senda Val Müstair
The Senda Val Müstair crosses the nature park in all its diversity. From the Ofen Pass (Süsom Givè), the trail leads through Swiss stone pine forests to Alp da Munt and continues with impressive views down into the valley. The highest point is reached at Lai da Juata (2,260 m), before descending to the serviced Alp Champatsch.
After Lü, the second section continues through forests and alpine meadows, passing Urschai, Alp Sot and Craistas, until the destination in Müstair is reached, home to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of St. John’s Monastery.
Varied mountain hike
Lü – Alp Valmorain – Alp Tabladatsch – Lai da Valpaschun – Lü
From Lü, the trail follows a forest road to Urschai and continues to Alp Valmorain. Soon, the next stage – Alp Tabladatsch – comes into view. The route then leads gently on to the idyllic Lai da Valpaschun. After a short, rocky descent, a forest road takes you back to Lü.
Along the Rombach to Müstair
A la riva dal Rom
This idyllic hiking trail (Route 801) follows the Rombach from its source in Süsom-Tschierv all the way to Müstair. The route leads through quiet moorlands, past rushing waterfalls and through enchanting floodplains.
Along the way, rest areas, playgrounds with fire pits and cosy restaurants invite you to linger. While some sections between Fuldera Furom and Valchava may be challenging for those with a fear of heights, other stretches are suitable for pushchairs. A varied tour for nature lovers and families.
