Event Müstair
Romanesque Day at St. Johann Monastery

Description
On Sunday, October 12, we invite you to the "Romanesque Day" and archaeologist Marion Veith will take us on a journey with the help of found arrowheads in her lecture "Uncertain times? Conflict situations in Müstair as reflected in archaeology".
What do the arrowheads found in the St. Johann monastery in Müstair tell us? How old are they and for what purpose were they used? Where were they found in the monastery grounds? Were there really Saracen invasions in Müstair?
Conflicts have been going on for centuries in various forms and effects, and even today in the modern world we are confronted with them again and again. Here in the monastery, too, we know of various conflict situations over the course of 1250 years of history. The archaeological findings open up a window into the situation at that time and allow us to participate a little in everyday history.
The lecture will take place at 2 pm in the Chasa Selm and is free of charge. No registration required.
