Pretty Best Friends (2011) is a French tragicomedy based on a true story. It tells the story of wealthy Philippe, who is paralyzed from the neck down after an accident. In his search for a new carer, he unexpectedly chooses Driss, a young man from a simple, difficult background. What initially seems like an unsuitable duo develops into an extraordinary friendship. Driss brings lightness, humor and joie de vivre to Philippe's everyday life, while Philippe transfers trust and responsibility to Driss. The film combines moving moments with plenty of humor and shows how friendship can overcome social boundaries.
