Description
From the stage town Sta. Maria, the day tour starts with hard work over Valchava (1552 m), against the direction of route no. 444 (National Park Bike Marathon), mostly on a gravel road through the forest to Tschierv (1660 m). Here begins the ascent to the Ofenpass (pass road about 5 km). At the pass height (2149 m) a flow trail branches off to the left down to Alp Buffalora (2038 m). The ascent to Fuorcla del Gallo (2080 m) is steep and ends on a great trail up to the pass height. Then follows a single trail to Lago di Livigno. The following path section to Passo di Fraéle (1952 m) is almost flat. The route continues to Casine di Trela (2170 m) on a flow trail over Passo di Val Trela (2295 m) to Ponte delle Capre (1810 m) on hard gravel to Livigno (1805 m), the stage destination.

Snowfields are possible in the high altitude sections up to the summer months.
The route was assessed under favorable weather conditions; current weather and forecasts must be strictly observed before starting the route.

Most of the Grisons mountain bike routes run on single trails that are also marked as hiking paths. Hikers always have the right of way.

- Hourly by the Rhaetian Railway (from Chur, Landquart/Prättigau, or from the Upper Engadin) to Zernez station
- Then hourly by PostAuto (from Zernez or Mals) to the PostAuto stop Sta. Maria Val Müstair, posta
Anreise Information
- From the north: via Landquart – Klosters by car shuttle through the Vereina Tunnel (Selfranga - Sagliains) or over the Flüelapass to Zernez on H27. From Zernez on H28 into Val Müstair to Sta. Maria (35 minutes drive from Vereina south portal).
- From the east: via Reschenpass (Nauders) on SS40 to Mals. From Mals on SS41 to the Swiss border at Müstair. From Müstair on H28 to Sta. Maria.
- From the south: via Bolzano and Meran on SS40 to Mals. From Mals on SS41 to the Swiss border at Müstair. From Müstair on H28 to Sta. Maria.
