Description

It takes some muscle power to get to the top of Valbella (which means beautiful valley), but it's worth it. And how: You are surrounded by a rugged, high alpine landscape, on one side you can see the rugged mountains of the Swiss National Park, on the other the glacier mountains Ortler and Königsspitze. And with a bit of luck you can also observe a chamois or a bearded vulture.

The tour starts at the top of the Ofen Pass Süsom Givè, which can also be reached by PostBus. Bikes are transported (reservation). This is followed by a crisp ascent (350 m) on forest roads, crossing the entire Minschuns ski area.

The highest point, the hill of Valbella, is at 2500 m above sea level. From there, a long single trail leads back to the top of the Ofen Pass. The trail winds along steep limestone flanks and (in early summer) through magnificent flower meadows. It is very fluid to drive, but has some technical and exposed passages.

Geheimtipp

The Valbella round trip can be easily extended with the tour Tras la Val Müstair to a day trip.
