Piano recital with pianist Walter Prossnitz

Prossnitz has lived in Switzerland for many years and gives concerts mainly in Europe and North America and has been a soloist with orchestras in New York, Washington and Mexico. He has been invited to record with the English Chamber Orchestra and RSO Berlin. He played with the Munich Chamber Symphony in Germany and Spain. As a soloist, he has played in Zurich with seven different orchestras and has been a lecturer at the Zurich Conservatory since 1988. He gives master classes in Switzerland, USA, Canada and China. Walter Prossnitz is a versatile person – he invents logic puzzles, writes books and has rewritten several sonatas by Beethoven, Schubert, Liszt and Saint-Saëns as concertos for solo instrument and orchestra, is active as a composer and orchestrator and has been a jury member at numerous competitions. Walter Prossnitz comes from a family with a long musical tradition: his great-great-great-uncle was head of the Department of Piano and Music History at the Vienna Academy from 1875-1900. Among his pupils were the composers Anton Bruckner, Gustav Mahler and Hugo Wolf.
